Bar La Puntilla is one of the busiest seafood and tapas bars in Nerja. It is at Calle Bolivia 1, about 600 metres from the Balcón de Europa, away from the bustle of the centre and full of locals. It has more than 4,100 Google reviews with a 4.5 rating (4.3 on Tripadvisor).

What to order. Fried fish, seafood and Andalusian tapas: squid, razor clams, coquina clams, prawns, croquettes and home-made chips. Almost everything comes as a full or half portion, so it is easy to try several dishes, and there are gluten-free options among the fried food. Portions are generous and you pay €10-20 per person. Paella must be ordered in advance.

Opening hours and booking. It opens every day in two sittings, 12:30-16:00 and 18:30-23:00. You can book by phone, and in summer it is worth booking and confirming: at peak times there is a queue at the door and too few staff, which is the main complaint. The glazed dining room is very noisy when full; ask for the terrace if you can.
