Burriana and Torrecilla beaches are getting busier at weekends. The water (18°C) is fine for short swims. Coves such as Maro are wonderful in May.
Hiking in May
The last ideal month before the summer heat. Start early for mountain routes. Remember that access to the Río Chíllar has been closed since August 2023 because of the wildfire risk.
