Calle Mirto Car Park (Río Chíllar)

Free unpaved car park at the end of calle Mirto, in northern Nerja: the one to use for the Río Chíllar walk. Open-air and unattended.

The calle Mirto car park is an unpaved open area at the end of that street, in northern Nerja, and the place to leave your car if you are going to the Río Chíllar. It is free, open-air and unattended.

From here you walk down the track towards the A-7 viaduct to the old quarry, where the riverbed walk begins: about 20–25 minutes. In summer and at weekends it fills up early, so arrive first thing.

Many people leave their car further down, by the riverbed and on the access tracks. The town hall sign at the river access warns of fines of up to €6,010.12 for parking there.

Note: access to the Río Chíllar has been officially closed since August 2023; check its status in the route guide.
